

Several programs of study have additional admission requirements. Please be aware that admission to the University does not guarantee admission to your intended major. Admission to the institution is not guaranteed by payment of an admissions application fee. Payment of fees for the processing of an admission application shall entitle the applicant to have his or her application form reviewed according to normal admissions procedures at the institution. Furthermore, the University reserves the right not to accept the credits of any institution, notwithstanding its accredited status, if the University determines that the quality of instruction available at the institution is for any reason deficient or unsatisfactory. It reserves the right to reject the application of any individual who is not a legal resident of the State of Georgia. The University reserves the right to discontinue accepting admission applications when its enrollment limits have been reached. Appeals must be made in writing to the Director of Admissions.

This policy is administered by the Director of Admissions, who makes the final decision as to an applicant’s acceptability, subject to the applicant’s right of appeal as provided by the bylaws of the University and of the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia.

VSU reserves the right to refuse admission to any individual, based on the results of such an appraisal. In order for this examination and appraisal to be made, applicants shall furnish to the institution such biographical and other information, including references, as may be required. VSU shall have the right to examine and appraise the character, personality, and qualifications of applicants. Acceptance is based upon previous academic record, entrance examination scores, good conduct, and, when deemed necessary, results of personal interviews or other appropriate tests required to determine general fitness for admission to an institution of higher learning. Official transcripts being sent via FedEx, UPS or other carrier should be sent to the physical address provided at the bottom of this page.The admission policy of Valdosta State University (VSU) is designed to admit those students whose academic backgrounds indicate a reasonable potential for success in the educational program of the University. Official transcripts being sent via regular mail should be sent to the mailing address provided at the bottom of this page. UA will only accept a transcript directly from the student provided it is delivered in the envelope sealed by the originating institution and marked as official. Official electronic transcripts are those submitted directly to UA by the originating institution, normally through a third-party provider such as the National Student Clearinghouse or Parchment. Official transcripts are those submitted directly to UA in a sealed envelope by the originating institution. UA will not accept unofficial copies of transcripts.
